Claiming themselves as Ganojagaran Manch activists and organisers, a group under the banner of ‘Ganojagaran Mancher Karmi O Sangathak’ on Saturday expelled Imran H Sarker as its spokesperson.
They made the announcement at a press conference in front of Bangladesh National Museum at the capital’s Shahbagh in the afternoon.
Reading out a written statement, Kamal Pasa, a leader of Muktijoddha Chhatra Command, said a five-member spokesman-panel for the Manch will be declared very soon.
He also said they would publish a list of the organisations engaged with the Ganojagaran Manch movement since its inception.
Kamal Pasa said the Manch will observe the historic Mujibnagar Day.
Azad Abul Kalam, president of Gourav-71, another group engaged with the Ganojagaran Manch, its general secretary FM Shaheed and H Rahman Nilu, president of Aparajeyo Bangla, another group, were, among others, present.
Earlier, BCL and Jubo League, two pro-ruling party organisations, allegedly attacked the Manch activists in the capital’s Shahbagh area on Saturday last.
Later, a faction of the Manch ‘expelled’ Imran H Sarker declaring him “persona non-grata” at the platform.
