A Dhaka court has granted three-day remand to BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in a case filed with Paltan police station for torching vehicles and preventing police from discharging their duties.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Masud Sheikh passed the order on Tuesday morning.

Earlier, Investigation Officer and also Paltan police station Sub-Inspector Enayet Karim pleaded for a 10-day remand on January 18.

Paltan police station Assistant Sub-Inspector Abdul Malek Hawladar filed the case against 43 named and 20 to 30 unnamed BNP leaders on December 28.
