An elderly woman was killed during a clash between two groups of villagers in Dikpara village in Sadar upazila.
The deceased was identified as Fatema Begum, 80.
The clash erupted between Sharafat Ali and his neighbor Shahjahan Miah over the ownership of a piece of land.
As a sequel to the enmity, both groups locked into an altercation in the evening, leading to a clash. At one stage, supporters of Shahjahan Miah beat up Fatema, leaving her critically injured
Fatema was rushed to Sherpur Zila Hospital where on-duty doctors declared her dead.
A case was filed in this connection.
