Dudu calls Tarique Rahman future PM

He asks AL leaders to exercise restraint in commenting about Tarique

News - Dudu calls Tarique Rahman future PM

Terming BNP senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman as future Prime Minister of the country, BNP chairperson’s adviser Shamsuzzaman Dudu asked the Awami League leaders to exercise restraint while making any comment about Tarqiue.

“If elections take place tomorrow, Tarique Rahman will become the prime minister the next day. So, I want to tell (Mohammad) Nasim to think well before talking about Tarique,” he said at a press briefing at the party’s Naya Paltan office in the city.

Dudu said the government is yet to prove a single allegation in the cases filed against Tarqiue Rahman during the army-backed caretaker government.

“Tarqiue Rahman is future leader of the country. His spinal cord was broken as he had suffered torture by the 1/11 government. Hussain Shahid Suhrawardy, AK Fazlul Huq, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani did not face such torture,” he said.

AL presidium member Mohammad Nasim on Thursday demanded of the government to bring back Tarique Rahman and put him on trial.

Tarique Rahman, elder son of Khaleda Zia, has been staying in London since September 11, 2008 after he was released on parole on medical ground.
