Education minister Nurul Islam Nahid said the government will tomorrow (Wednesday) decide whether to postpone SSC and equivalent examinations scheduled for Thursday.
He said this at a press conference organised by the Ministry of Education in the city today (Tuesday).
The minister requested the BNP-led 20-party alliance to postpone hartal till the examinations are finished, or at least relax it for a few hours before and after the examinations.
He said they will wait for 24 hours before making any decision to this end, ‘in case BNP changes their mind’.
“We hope they will rethink and call off the shutdown,” he added.
The BNP-led alliance has already extended their ongoing hartal till Friday 6:00am.
So far, dates of four examinations have been deferred due to hartal.
