Court denies bail to Hannan, Rizvi

 

A court here on Monday rejected the bail petitions of two BNP leaders, including BNP standing committee member Brigadier General (retd) Hannan Shah and its joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi in  two cases filed with Motijheel and Paltan police stations.

 

Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge Mohammad Zahurul Haque passed the order in the afternoon.

 

On November 5, 18-party activists brought out a procession in front of New Anar Bakery at Kamalapur Mazar Road. Several crude bombs were exploded during the incident.

 

BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi was shown arrested in the case filed with Paltan Police Station while Hannan Shah in two cases filed with Motijheel Police Station.

 

Plainclothes police detained Hannan Shah from the city’s Baridhara area at night on November 25.

 

The DB stormed into the BNP central office at Nayapaltan and picked up Ruhul Kabir Rzvi and Belal Ahmed in the early hours of November 30.
