He voiced for immediate release of the opposition Islamist leaders. General Guide of Muslim Brotherhood Dr. Muhammad Badie said, Egypt and Bangladesh has historical relationship. If the Islamist leaders are not freed then diplomatic relationship of Bangladesh with Muslim World will be endangered. Pointing to the violations of legal and constitutional rights of the imprisoned Jamaat leaders he said, Bangladesh government has to respect rule of law and human rights. The Muslim Ummah can not be silent and swallow the ongoing injustice and oppression on Islamists of Bangladesh. He urged the delegates to be vocal about the issue.

The Turkish representative Dr. Ekmeleddin warned that if the torture in Bangladesh doesn’t stop and if the leaders of Islamic Movement are not freed then steps will be taken internationally.

They were deprived from rights derived from the law of the land. They said, tyrannical rulers always fear popular uprisings. What is happening in Bangladesh is a gross injustice. The Muslim Ummah should respond to this injustice with one voice.

Bangladesh government is prosecuting top nine leaders of the largest Islamic opposition party Jamaat e Islami in charges of “war crimes”. The tribunal is prosecuting on the basis of a law that lacks international standards and deprived the leaders from legal and fundamental human rights bestowed in the constitution. Many international and national organizations including Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International have vehemently criticized the law which is allegedly legislated so as to prosecute the opponents of this government. But the government did not listen to anyone and was very much stubborn in its attitude.
