BNP wants to create constitutional vacuum: Amu

Khaleda sheds crocodile tears over N’ganj incident, says Hasan

Dhaka, May 15 (UNB) – Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu on Thursday alleged that BNP wants to create a constitutional vacuum in the country.

“BNP wants to create a constitutional vacuum in the country…their conspiracy is neither against Sheikh Hasina nor Awami League, it’s rather  against the country’s independence,” he said.

The minister said this while addressing a discussion organised by Jubo League at city’s Shilpakala Academy marking the Homecoming Day of Sheikh Hasina.

“BNP doesn’t believe in the country’s sovereignty and national anthem. They’re trying to obstruct the trial of war criminals. They want to destabilise the country by waging a movement in the name of caretaker government,” he told the programme.

Juba League general secretary Harun-or-Rashid, among others, spoke at the programme held with its chairman Omar Faruk Chowdhury in the chair.

In another discussion, Awami League publicity and publication secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud said BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia went to Narayanganj to shed crocodile tears.

“Khaleda Zia went to Narayanganj after the murders of seven people to shed crocodile tears. But Khaleda Zia didn’t visit the burn victims at Dhaka Medical College. That means she wants to fish in the troubled waters.

Hasan Mahmud said this while addressing a discussion organised by Deshratna Sebak Parishad at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU), also marking the Homecoming Day of Sheikh Hasina.

  1. When veterans (?) like Mr. Amu says so we cannot help a suppressed laugh. How shamelessly he brags of constitutional vacuum, democracy bla bla bla when he and his proteges have been enthroned without even 5% votes. ‘Nirlojjo’ word itself gets shame at their utterances.
