BNP condemns arson attack on its Chuadanga office

Condemning the torching of their Chuadanga office, BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Thursday night alleged that the Prime Minister has let loose her party ‘cadres’ to oppress the opposition.

In a statement, he said, “Sheikh Hasina let loose her party cadres to persecute the opposition leaders and activists across the country. The arson attack on Chuadanga district unit BNP office is its latest example.”

Fakhrul alleged that a group of Bangladesh Chhatra League activists on Thursday evening set fire to their office and ransacked it over a factional feud of the ruling party student body.

He also claimed that the arson attack on the BNP office was made to divert the factional dispute of the BCL to a different direction.

The BNP spokesman demanded the administration immediately arrest those Awami League ‘cadres’ involved in the incident and mete out exemplary punishment to them.

The Chuadanga district unit office of BNP was torched allegedly by a group of Bangladesh Chhatra League activists following a crude bomb attack on their jubilant procession.
