“It’s a very good that anti-drug operations are being conducted. But arrest and take action against your (government’s) own people in drugs business,” the BNP secretary general said at an Iftar programme in Dhaka on Monday.
“Your MP from Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar (Abdur Rahman Badi) got away by securing bail and has resumed this business. You let almost everyone get away with drug trafficking,” the BNP leader said.

He doubted the versions of the so-called crossfires provided by the law enforcers.
“We, too, want the country free from drugs, we want drug traders to be tried. But it doesn’t mean that you can kill people without trial,” he said.
He also criticised the government over ‘enforced disappearance’ of BNP leaders and activists.
At least 15 people were killed in anti-drug operations across Bangladesh in past two days following Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s order to take tough action against drug traffickers.
