Bishwajit murder: 3 confess to killing

Three accused in the Bishwajit killing case on Sunday confessed to killing the 24-year old tailor on December 9.

The accused are: Mahfuzur Rahman Nahid, GM Rasheduzzaman Shaon and Rafiqul Islam Shakil.

They gave the confessional statements before Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Erfan Ullah when Tajul Islam, an inspector of Detective Branch of police and also investigation officer of the case, produced the trio before the magistrate.

Details of their statements however could not be known immediately.

After recording the statements they were sent to jail.

Taking Bishwajit for a pro-blockade activist during the BNP-led 18-party countrywide blockade on December 9, a group of Chhatra League activists of Jagannath University swooped on him around 9:00am on his way to work.

The victim was declared dead at Mitford Hospital around 10:00am on the day.
