Bangladesh Navy have seized 1,500,000 yaba tablets worth Tk83 crore and a trawler carrying them from the outer anchorage of Chittagong Port.
Navy’s Anti-smuggling cell recovered the tablets at 2:30am on Thursday.
Commander Atiur Rahman, in charge of the cell, said: “A patrol team chased the trawler and recovered the tablets sensing suspicious activities of the trawler crew.”
However, no one was detained in this connection as the entire crew jumped into the water and swam ashore.
