Bangladesh will observe the 100th birth anniversary of its founding father, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, next year and the BCB is planning to make this grand occasion a memorable one.

BCB president Nazmul Hasan said they are planning to arrange a special match with the best cricketers around the world to adorn the occasion.

“The centennial anniversary of the father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will be held next year. The golden jubilee of our country’s independence will also be held soon. We are making some plans regarding those special occasions. We want to do something so that the whole cricketing world will sit together to enjoy. But the discussions are at a primary stage now,” said Nazmul to the media.

The BCB boss also said they are trying to get recognition from ICC regarding the special arrangement.

“But things are depending on the international fixture. It is tough to get all the countries together. So, we will try to involve representatives of maximum countries. We are also trying to get the recognition from ICC and right now we are working on it,” said the BCB boss.

“We will try to ensure the participation of India, Australia, and England. We have to look forward when they can spare team and how we may get their best players. We also have to see whether the best players are interested to come here. We are trying to arrange one of the most interesting games in Bangladesh,” he added.
