A Bangladeshi cattle trader was shot dead by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in Ohedpur border area under Shibganj upazila early Monday.
The deceased was identified as Tariqul islam (35), son of the late Yusuf Ali at Jamaipara village.
Lt Col Abu Zafor Sheikh Mohammad Bazlul Haque said, BSF men opened fire upon a group of cattle traders while they were entering India to bring cattle, leaving Tariqul bullet wounded.
After rescuing him, he was taken at his residence but he died at around 2.30am.
Shibganj Thana Police sent the dead body to Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
