Bangladesh women cricketers qualify for ICC World T20

Bangladesh women’s cricket team booked their place in the ICC World Twenty20 when they beat Zimbabwe by 31 runs in the semi-final of the qualifying tournament in Bangkok today.
Sent into bat first, Bangladesh put 89-5 in their 20 overs thanks to Fargana Haque’s run-a-ball 43. The only other player to reach the double figure is opener Sharmin Akter, who made 22 off 34 balls.
Bangladesh later dismissed Zimbabwe for 58 runs in 19.1 overs to secure their place in the prestigious tournament second time in a row.
Rumana Ahmed claimed four wickets for Bangladesh giving away just eight runs while Fatima Khatun and Shaila Sharmin took two wickets each.
Bangladesh, unbeaten so far in the eight-team qualifying tournament, will face Ireland or Scotland in the final.
The ICC World Twenty20, 2016 will be held in India from March 11 to April 3.
Bangladesh will join Australia, England, West Indies, South Africa, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
