The Bangladesh squad consists of both the young and the experienced, according to chairman of selectors Faruque Ahmed.

Mushfiqur Rahim, who is back in contention after an injury lay-off, will lead the team. Salma Khatun will lead the women team.

“We have considered the fact that this is a world event and experience is necessary as well as giving opportunities to youngsters like Muminul Hoque and Shabbir Rahman who have the potential to excel in the shortest format,” Faruque said on Sunday.

“Someone like Arafat Sunny, who has impressed everyone and had been performing consistently at domestic level, had to miss out because we needed to have that balance,” he added.
