Bangladesh has sought duty and quota-free market access to South Africa to strengthen business ties.
The foreign ministry said a list of 206 products was handed to the South African delegation at the third round of bilateral meeting held in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Bangladesh highlighted the need for opening a South African mission in Dhaka for better ties.
The South African side promised to consider opening a resident mission in Dhaka at an early date.
Additional Foreign Secretary Mizanur Rahman led the Bangladesh delegation, while his counterpart A Sooklal led the South African team.
Bangladesh considers South Africa as a launching pad to sell its products to other African countries, apart from its own growing market.
Dhaka and Pretoria agreed on early finalisation of some draft agreements for mutual interest that include protocol for regular diplomatic consultations between the countries, and agreement on avoidance of double taxation.
They also agreed to sign agreements on establishing direct air connection between Dhaka and Johannesburg, and lifting visas for diplomatic and official passport holders.
The meeting decided to hold the next round of bilateral meeting in South Africa.
The first round of talks was held in Dhaka in 2012 and second round of talks was held in Pretoria in 2013.
South Africa’s Deputy Minister of the Department of International Relation and Cooperation Nomaindiya Mfeketo called on the home minister on Wednesday.
The foreign ministry said she also met the chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on foreign affairs and the foreign secretary.
