Bangladesh bow out of ICRC T20 tournament with win against India

The hosts beat their neighbours by seven wickets at BKSP ground No. 3 on Tuesday.

England beat Afghanistan by three wickets in the other match to set up Thursday’s final clash against Pakistan.

India posted 115 for eight after electing to bat.

Kunal (45) topscored for India while Ansul (26) and Yash Negi (12) chipped in with valuable runs.

No other batsman reached double-digit figures.

Md Alam Khan was the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh returning 3 for 23 while Drupam Patranabish Tirtho chipped in with two wickets.

Bangladesh chased down the target in 18.4 overs losing only three wickets.

The hosts were initially under pressure after losing two wickets quickly at the outset but a brilliant 65-run partnership between Amin Uddin and Shahriar Shamim brought the chase back on course.

Amin was dismissed after a 43-ball 45. Thereafter, Shamim took charge.

Shamim remained unbeaten on 42 and shared an unbroken 32-run stand with Apurba Kumar Paul (18) to help Bangladesh to their second win in the competition.

Bangladesh have finished third with four points.

Finalists Pakistan and England have six points each.

The tournament, which is the first of its kind, has been arranged by the International Committee of the Red Cross along with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan and Bangladesh Cricket Board.
