Bangladesh beat Kyrgyzstan

Bangladesh came from two-set behind to beat Kyrgyzstan by 3-2 sets in their Bangamata Asian Senior Women’s Central Zone International Volleyball Championship match at the Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium in Dhaka on Wednesday.

Kyrgyzstan won the first two sets by 25-9 and 25-15 points before the hosts came back strongly to win the next three sets by 25-21, 25-17 and 15-11 points and win the match ultimately.

This was Bangladesh’s second win in the tournament after they started their campaign with a 3-0 set win over Afghanistan before suffering defeats against Maldives and Nepal by same margins in their next two matches.

In the day’s other match at the same venue, Nepal defeated Maldives by 3-0 sets to secure their fourth straight win in the five-nation event.

Maldives started their campaign with a 3-2 set win against Kyrgyzstan before they beat Bangladesh and Afghanistan by straight 3-0 sets to confirm their final berth.

Today Nepal will take on Maldives in the final while Bangladesh will take on Kyrgyzstan in the third place deciding match at the same venue.
