Bangladesh appoints new envoys to Ethiopia, Morocco

The government is transferring the ambassador to Morocco as the first envoy to the newly opened embassy in Ethiopia, and is promoting the consul general in Los Angeles as the ambassador to Morocco.

The Foreign Ministry said that Sultana Laila Hossain will replace Md Monirul Islam in Morocco.

Islam is a 10th batch BCS (Foreign Affairs) Cadre recruit, while Laila Hossain had joined the 11th batch. They are both career diplomats.

Islam had previously served as a Consul General in New York, and the Bangladesh missions in Madrid, Beijing, Singapore, and Ottawa in different capacities, and also worked as Director General of the East Asia & Pacific wing at the foreign ministry.

Laila Hossain had previously served in the Bangladesh missions in New Delhi and Yangon, and also worked as Director General of the Consular & Welfare wing at the ministry.
