The Bangla Academy on Thursday announced the Bangla Academy Literary Award 2015.
Eleven poets, writers, researchers and academicians got the award in different categories.
The academy director general Shamsuzzaman Khan announced the names of award recipients at a news conference.
The award recipients are Altaf Hossain in poetry category; Shahin Akter in prose category; Abul Momen and Atiur Rahman in essay category; Maniruzzman in research category; Tajul Mohammad in literature on war of independence; Faruque Chowdhury in travelogue category; Sujan Barua in children’s literature category; Abdus Selim in translation category; Masum Reza in drama category and Sharif Khan in science-technology and environment category.
The academy’s executive council has selected the award recipients. The prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, would distribute the awards at the inaugural function of Amar Ekushey Granthamela on February 1.
