Bangladesh made exit from the 2nd SAFF Championship race as they lost to host Nepal in the first semifinal held Saturday at Dasharath Rangasala Stadium in Kathmandu, Nepal, reports BSS

Nepal will fight for title in the final against the second semifinal winners India or Afghanistan on July 30 at the same venue.

India take on Afghanistan in the second semifinal schedule to be held today (Sunday) at the Army Ground.

In the day’s match, Sujan Limbu opened an account for Nepal early in the 8th minute while Bimal Gharti doubled the lead for the host side in the 20th minute.

Magar Anjan Bista further widened the team’s margin in the 22nd minute while after the breather Nepal enjoyed a suicidal goal scored by Atikuzzaman in the 57th minute.

Sujan Limbu scored his second and fifth for Nepal in the 60th minute while Al Amin Tushar pulled one back for Bangladesh in the 65thh minute of the match.

Earlier, Bangladesh finished group B runners up in the meet, defeated Sri Lanka by 3-1 goals in their opening match but suffered a 0-2 goal defeat to India in the second match.
