Tigers are just a series away to make further rise in rankings as they can be at no 6 or 7th position in ICC ODI ranking if they can win the series against India.
A 3 – 0 series win against the visitors will push Bangladesh in no 6 exceeding West Indies and England in the ranking.
However, if the tigers can seal the series 2 – 1, they will be at 7th position.
If Bangladesh can whitewash India, they will accumulate 8 points to end up in 96.
On the other hand, they will have 5 rating points if they can win the series 2 – 1.
In the last updated ODI ranking by ICC, Bangladesh is now jointly at 8th position with West Indies having 88 points each. England is now at no 6 with 93 points.
According to the latest rules by ICC, top eight teams will play the ICC Champions Trophy and will directly play the 2019 ODI World Cup.
