Asian Games Cricket: B’desh women team reaches final beating SL by 25 runs

Bangladesh women cricket team reached the final of the 17th Asian Games Cricket Thursday eliminating Sri Lanka by 25 runs in the second semi-final at Yeonhui Cricket Ground at Incheon, South Korea.

Bangladesh will play final on Friday against Pakistan, who outplayed China by 9  wickets in the first semi-final today.

In the day’s 2nd semi-final, Bangladesh decided to bat first after winning the toss and scored 95 runs for 4 wickets in stipulated 20 overs.

Lata Mondal scored an unbeaten 34 runs off 43 balls with a boundary, Farzana Haque added 22 runs off 33 balls also with a boundary and skipper Salma Khatun 14 runs for Bangladesh.

In reply, the Sri Lankan team were all out for 70 runs in 18.2 overs against devastating blowing by Panna Ghosh, who grabbed 5 wickets conceding only 10 runs.

Rumana Ahmed bagged 2 wickets for 11 runs.
