Blaming BNP-Jamaat for attacks on the minorities in Satkania, Awami League general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam on Wednesday said there was also negligence on the part of the administration during the violence.
He made the remark while addressing a workers’ meeting of district (South) Awami League at Satkania upazila Parishad ground at noon.
Syed Ashraf, also LGRD and Cooperatives Minister, observed that the destructive activities would not have taken place if Awami League leaders and activists had been responsible and organised.
He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is sincere enough about minorities. “We’re with them. The losses the minority communities have suffered will fully be compensated.”
