Arshiyan breaks through

Arshiyan Alam, a class 7 student of Sunnydale School, Dhaka, emerged as yet another finalist of the Spelling Bee.
“This is the first year that I participated,” says Arshiya, “I watched the Spelling Bee last year, and this year I was in Class 6 when the Spelling Bee started.”
Arshiyan says that till the divisional rounds, she didn’t do much preparation and attributes her success to luck but after the divisional she used dictionaries and the Spellato to help her prepare. “The hardest word I had to face in the competition was Caesura, I got it wrong.”
Arshiyan tells us her experiences as the youngest qualifier for the Spelling Bee finals. “It was terrifying to be the youngest; I didn’t expect to be the youngest among the finalists.”
She tells us how she was caught unprepared for the Spell Ring rounds. “I think that was the hardest part for me throughout the competition.
