Leg-spinner Aminul Islam on Monday expressed his confidence of beating India in the second Twenty20 international as well as he believed their win in the opening match boosted their confidence.

‘India is a very big team. The win was essential in order to improve our confidence. Everyone tried their best and we won the game. We all are so happy for that,’ Aminul told reporters in Delhi before Bangladesh team left for Rajkot which will host the second Twenty20I on Thursday.

‘We won the first game and now the target will be improving day by day. If we can play well in the next match, we will definitely win,’ he added.

Bangladesh produced a great all-round display in the first of three-match Twenty20I series when they comprehensively beat hosts India by seven wickets in Delhi to go 1-0 up in the series on Sunday.

Mushfiqur Rahim starred with bat for the Tigers, making an unbeaten 60 off 43 balls which guided Bangladesh seal their first ever win against India in the shortest format of the game.

Bowlers set up the win by restricting India to a gettable 148-6 and Aminul, who played only his second Twenty20I, once again delivered with ball.

The 19-year old cricketer, who shone with ball in his debut match against Zimbabwe finishing with 2-18 in September, proved his worth against a strong opponent claiming 2-22 in his three overs.

He claimed two big wickets of Lokesh Rahul and Shreyas Iyer in the early part of India innings which not only gave Bangladesh initial breakthroughs but also forced the hosts to go slow in their innings.

Aminul said he didn’t want to compare his both performances at the very early of his career and was satisfied with his performance against a tough opposition like India.

‘Debut match is debut match. It will always be memorable. That match was important too. It is important for every player to perform well in his debut match.

‘India is a strong team and I am happy to perform with them,’ he added.
