Former joint secretary M Ishak Bhuiyan filed the case with a Brahmanbaria court

A defamation case has been filed against former Awami League minister and also former Air Vice Marshal AK Khandaker for making derogatory comments about Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the Liberation War in his new book.

Former Joint Secretary M Ishak Bhuiyan filed the case with Brahmanbaria’s Senior Judicial Magistrate’s Court around 12:30pm on Wednesday.

An order in the case will be given on September 15.

Plaintiff’s lawyer Tanvir Bhuiyan said: “The case was filed under sections 500 and 501.”

According to the case statement, Khandaker, the deputy chief of army during the war, in his book alleged that some members of the Mujib Bahini (league) led gangs in robbery and they were not even noticed in the war field.
