BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s adviser Abdul Awal Mintoo and her special assistant Shimul Biswas were arrested on Friday night.
“The two were arrested in front of Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan residence at about 1am,” a BNP leader told UNB.
He said Abdul Awal Mintoo, also a former FBCCI president, and Shimul Biswas were arrested as they came out of Khaleda Zia’s residence after meeting her.
DMP deputy commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman confirmed UNB about the arrest of the duo.
In another incident, vice president of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) Anwar Hossain Tipu was arrested in front the Jatiya Press Club around 1am.
