At least seven people were killed and two others injured when a truck lost control and fell into a roadside ditch in Narayanganj’s Rupganj Upazila on Saturday.
The truck carrying vegetables and at least 12 people was on its way to Chittagong, police said.
Rupganj Police Station OC Md Asaduzzaman said the accident took place around Saturday midnight on the Madanpur-Bhulota-Joydevpur road at Rupganj’s Golakandail.
Two persons who suffered critical injuries were sent to Dhaka for better treatment, he said.
He said the rescue efforts were still on.
The OC feared that the death toll might go up.
