6 to testify for Quader Mollah

International Crimes Tribunal-2 allowed six defence witnesses from a list of 965 witnesses to be testified for Jamaat-e-Islami leader Abdul Quader Mollah, who is an accused of crimes against humanity, on Monday.

The two-member tribunal headed by ATM Fazle Kabir directed the defence counsel to produce one among the six witnesses on November 11 to give their testimony for the Jamaat leader.

Earlier defence counsel of Quader Mollah submitted a list of 965 witnesses to defend their client.

On October 18, prosecution filed a petition seeking rejection to the ”huge list” of defence witnesses and for a direction on them to submit a fresh list not exceeding half the number of prosecution witnesses.

The tribunal framed six charges of crimes against humanity against Quader Mollah on May 28.
