A Dhaka-bound bus belonging to SR Travels and a truck rammed into each other at Fultala in Shahjahanpur Upazila at around 3pm on Sunday.

The collision left three, including a child and woman on the truck, dead on the spot, Shahjahanpur police OC Mahmudul Alam said.

He said two others died at the hospital.

Police could not confirm the identities of the dead.

The injured have been admitted to the Bogra’s Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.

Dr Akshay Kumar, working at the emergency unit, said several of the injured were in a critical condition.

On Saturday, a road accident in Gaibandha had killed 10 people.

A large number of people are returning to their workplaces after celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr with their families on Friday.

Poor road conditions, inefficient drivers, and reckless driving are generally blamed for road accidents in Bangladesh.
