Moudud set to fly to London for treatment Saturday

Ailing BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed will fly to London on Saturday for better treatment.

The BNP leader is scheduled to leave for London by a regular flight of Emirates Airlines on Saturday morning, Moudud’s chamber junior Ehsanur Rahman told UNB on Friday.

He said Moudud is going abroad for treatment as per advice by physicians at United Hospital here where he has been undergoing treatment since last week.

The veteran BNP leader was admitted to the hospital after he fell down at his Gulshan residence following chest pain on Sunday afternoon.

Moudud, a current MP and also a former minister, went to Sylhet to join a public rally of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on October 5. He complained of light chest pain at night and flew back to the capital the following morning (Oct 6).

Only few hours after returning home, Moudud fainted at about 1:30 pm while going to the washroom. He was immediately taken to the United Hospital.

Moudud underwent various tests at the hospital, but the doctors could not identify any specific cardiac problem.
