The BNP-led 18-party opposition alliance has called a fresh four-day nationwide rail, road, waterways blockade from Saturday morning demanding parliamentary polls under a non-party caretaker government.

While announcing the programme this afternoon, Nazrul Islam Khan, a standing committee member of BNP, said Saturday’s countrywide polio vaccination programme will remain out of purview of the blockade.

The programme will begin at 6:00am Saturday and end at 5:00pm Tuesday, said Nazrul Islam Khan while speaking at a press briefing at BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office around 5:00pm today, 13 hours before ending of their forth round of blockade.

The opposition alliance started enforcing the prolonged blockades a day after the Election Commission on November 25 announced the schedule for the 10th parliamentary polls which the BNP has boycotted.

The other demands of the combine include cancellation of the schedule and release of its leaders and activists.
