BNP claims CJ Sinha under ‘house arrest’, his application ‘fake’

Bangladesh Nationalist Party standing committee member Moudud Ahmed on Thursday claimed that application in the name of Chief Justice SK Sinha addressing the president seeking  one-month leave is ‘fake’.

Moudud, a senior lawyer of the Supreme Court, addressing a seminar, alleged that Chief Justice Sinha is now under house arrest.

The government has ’caused death’ to the independence of judiciary, he said.

He said relatives of Sinha were not being allowed to meet with him while his telephone connection was snapped.

Former law minister Moudud, showing a copy of application that was showed by incumbent law minister Anisul Haque on Wednesday to journalists as application of leave of CJ Sinha addressing the president, said there were five spelling mistakes in the letter.

He said no chief justice can sign an application having so spelling mistake.

BNP standing committee member Moudud claimed that the signature in the application is not the signature of SK Sinha.

He said he felt ashamed  that how from higher level of the state such ‘fake’ information is being provided. It is like ‘forgery’, he added.

Moudud said conspiracy was going on to send Sinha abroad.

Pro-BNP non-government teachers’ forum, Shikkhak Karmachari Oikya Jote organised the seminar at the National Press Club to mark World Teacher Day 2017.
