At least two people were killed and over 25 injured in a clash between the activists of Awami League and BNP in Nikli upazila of Kishoreganj on Friday afternoon.
The deceased were named as: Kanchan and Waskuruni but no other details about their identity were available instantly, reports our Kishoreganj correspondent.
The clash took place around 5:00pm in a haor area between the supporters of Halim (nickname), a leader of the ruling AL, and Harun, a leader of the main opposition party, said Liton Kumar Saha, assistant superintendent of police in the district.
Talking to The Daily Star, he said the clash was a sequel to a political feud between the two groups.
Law enforcers could not reach the remote area till 7:00pm, the official said adding many of the injured were bullet-hit during the clash.
