BNP general secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and senior leaders of the Jatiya Oikya Front including Kamal Hossain were also attacked, he pointed out.

Rizvi said a politically motivated case has been filed against Kamal Hossain, which reveals the bad taste of the government.

The ruling Awami League government is not caring anyone, he added.

The BNP leader noted the way the renowned lawyer and also author of the constitution is humiliated, it proves the government is being run by ‘miscreants’.

He said the chief election commissioner’s speech is fuelling more repressions on the opposition by the police.

Rizvi said his party informed the election commission about the violence, attacks by police and AL men, but the EC did not take any action.
