Sayeed Hossain Chowdhury is also the chairman of HRC Group.
The decision has been taken on charges of defaulted loans against him.
The central bank sent a letter in this regard to the private bank on 5 June, BB executive director and spokesperson Sirajul Islam confirmed this to Prothom Alo.
Sirajul said, “He was removed from his post as a loan defaulter can’t remain in bank’s board of directors.”
