112 rocket launchers found in Satchhari forest

Rocket launchersA Rapid Action Battalion team has recovered 112 rocket launchers and 458 Chargers [rocket-propelled projectiles] from an abandoned hut at Satchhari National Forest at Chunarughat in Habiganj.

The location is adjacent to the Bangladesh-India border.

RAB officials on Wednesday said they found the arms and explosives in a trunk that was buried under the dirt floor of the hut that was probably used as goat shed.

The arms and explosives were stored in 15 sacks inside the trunk, the RAB officials told reporters just after the recovery at Tiprahat area of the forest on Wednesday afternoon.

RAB director (legal and media wing) Commander Mufti Mahmud Khan said, “Those potential explosives are used as anti-tank weapon.

He added that RAB-9 has been conducting a drive in the area since last Monday and the drive will continue.

Earlier, huge abandoned arms and explosives were recovered from the forest during separate drives.
