At least 10 children died in about 10 hours beginning Monday night through Tuesday morning at the children’s ward of the Osmani Medical College and Hospital in Sylhet.
The parents brought gross negligence charges against the physicians responsible for treating their babies.
Fakhrul Islam of Goainghat, kin of one of the victims, alleged that ‘the on-duty doctor was truly careless while treating the babies.’
The identities of the victims were not available immediately.
Meanwhile, the deputy director of the hospital, Abdus Salam said that such high number of deaths were unusual considering the time-span, which is around 10 hours.
